DAY 1 - TRIP TO LOMBOK, INDONESIA

Day 1,

As per planning, we had fixed our meeting point at Unitar International University at 9 am. After had our breakfast we went to KLIA by an Uber.  Around 12 pm, we took our flight. The airline which we took was Air Asia. We were totally excited since it was our first experience to travel as a team through flight. By 3.30 pm we had managed to reach Lombok Airport. It took almost 3 hours journey from Kuala Lumpur to Lombok. The view above was taken while we were in the journey to Lombok. Even though we, we were tired but the word excitement made us to forget about it.  

A guy called Pak Super came to fetch us from the airport of Lombok. He brought us to Lombok Senggigi Hotel which is 7 km from the airport and after reached we took a nap and we did not realise that we were sleeping for almost 2 hours. We took for an hour to get ourselves prepared for lunch as the meals that we had on flight were not enough. At night, we visited a few bars after had our dinner just to listen and enjoying live band for our first night activity.

DAY 2 - TRIP TO LOMBOK, INDONESIA

Day 2,

We woke up at 8 am then we had our breakfast at the hotel by enjoying Indonesian Cuisine that been served. Then we had checked out from the hotel and went to the other hotel which is known as Black Penny Villas before our snorkelling activity.  In snorkeling activity, there were about 20 of us on the boat. We made two stops before lunch, one at a coral reef where we saw lots of colorful fish, and another stop at Turtle Point where we did not see any turtles. The boat made a stop on Gili Air for lunch where our boat left us for over 2 hours (even though the lunch stop was supposed to be an hour). Back on the boat we were surprised to see that one of the crew was actually counting to make sure we had all made it back on the boat. Because we had wasted so much time for lunch we were pretty sure our boat wouldn't make the promised stops for snorkeling. This belief was correct, we only made one more stop, which was fine by us, at that point we were getting tired.  After we had our snorkeling activity, we took our opportunity to go to night market.  We walked the island to see sunset from the west coast. Spacious beach side restaurants and bars line this quieter side of the island where you can catch the sunset from swings built right on the water. The scenery on the west of the island is much different than the east, the waves break far in the distance, and calm water covered in green plants meets the shore.

DAY 3 - TRIP TO LOMBOK, INDONESIA

Day 3,

At 7 am we had our early breakfast as it will be the last day we here in Lombok Island, we took our opportunity again to go to Tie Kelep waterfall and located in the north of the island. The setting was beautiful, with lush tropical jungle surrounding the falls. We took another few hours to enjoy the view and scenery around before we off back to Malaysia. We too experienced riding bicycle which it had brought us to our childhood.

Lombok is an Indonesian island east of Bali and west of Sumbawa, part of the Lesser Sunda Island chain. It's known for beaches and surfing spots, particularly at Kuta and Banko Banko (in south Lombok). The motor-vehicle-free Gili Islands (Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno), off Lombok’s west coast, offer more beaches, reefs for diving and snorkeling, and a sea turtle hatchery.

The Gili islands (Gili means Small Island) are three islands that rest off of the northwest coast of Lombok, an archipelago created by volcanic activity. The largest island and farthest west, Gili Trawangan or Gili T, was our first stop. It is known as the "party island" attracting backpackers with its three main draws: snorkeling, diving and partying. There is a small local community on the Island.

No cars are allowed on any of the islands; only bikes and horse drawn carts. Gili Meno is the island in the middle and the smallest and quietest of the three. The island farthest east, closest to Lombok is Gili Air. Gili Air has the largest local community and the majority of locals are Muslim. Gili Air is supposed to be the quieter holiday alternative to Gili T, though some claim that it will become the next Gili T. After survey we had come out with an idea to decide Lombok as our destination where we could spend our holiday in an awesome place.

We had RM4800 in our budget, per person expenses are RM1200 and we all had that amount of cash that need to be spent for 3 days and 2 nights. After our vacation, we have balance of RM 1083.72 and we would like to suggest that Lombok it’s a place to visit. Therefore it was a good trip and it was just nice for our budget to travel to Lombok.
